Altinkum
Didim owns 90 km of glass clear beaches and a dozen of sand filled coves. Altinkum was awarded with the blue flag by the Turkish Environmental Education Foundation TURCEV and owns the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. The coastal road ist the the spot for entertainment and socializing with a lot of cafes, bars, pubs and clubs. There are also many options for people interested in boat tours or private yacht tours.
History
Didim was named Yeronda during the period of the Ottoman Empire and became a town in 1991. After the earthquake in 1995 the name was changed to Didim (origin: Didymaion).
With the population of 86.688 (source 2019), our town turned into a popular vacation address in the past few years. Didims acreage of 402 km' hosts around 2 million turists during the summer months.
Some of the historical sightseeing stops are the Temple of Apollo, the ancient city Milet, the ancient city Priene, the Holy Way, the Bafa Lake and the Monastery Cove.
